Solar contract help for Nevada homeowners
Southern Nevada's sunshine made it a solar hotspot, and a target for high-pressure sales. We help homeowners in Las Vegas, Henderson, Reno, and across the state understand their agreements and pursue resolution.
Why Nevada solar savings often fall short
Most Nevada homeowners with solar are NV Energy customers. Under Nevada's net metering rules, the credit for excess solar energy sent to the grid depends on when your system was connected, and newer systems generally receive less than the full retail rate. If your proposal assumed full credit, or didn't account for summer evening air-conditioning use, your savings may be well below what you were shown.
What we see most often in Nevada
- Projections that overstated net metering credits
- Leases and PPAs with escalators that outpace utility rate changes
- HOA approval problems and delays that pushed back activation
- Roof penetrations and leaks on tile roofs
- Retirees in active-adult communities signing long agreements after one visit
- Homeowners who never received a copy of the signed agreement
Nevada's solar consumer protections
Nevada has detailed laws for solar sales and leases, including required disclosures and contract terms, and failing to follow them can be treated as a deceptive trade practice. The Nevada Attorney General's Office has reminded consumers of a three-day right to cancel a solar agreement and the right to receive a copy of the signed contract. Complaints about solar installation companies can also go to the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada. This is general information, not legal advice.

Nevada FAQs
I never got a copy of my solar agreement. Is that a problem?
It can matter. Nevada law addresses what documents must be provided. We can help you request your documents and review them.
My HOA delayed my install, but payments started anyway. Can you look at that?
Yes. We review when payments began compared with installation, inspection, and activation dates.
Do I need to come to an office?
No. We work with Nevada homeowners by phone, text, email, and secure upload.
