LOAN SUPPORT
Solar loan dispute support
With a solar loan, you own the system but you owe a lender, sometimes on terms that were never clearly explained. We help you understand the loan, document what went wrong, and pursue a resolution with the companies involved.
Who this is for
Homeowners whose loan payments are higher than expected, whose loan included large fees they didn't know about, who were told a tax credit would pay down the loan, or whose system doesn't perform as promised while the loan payments keep coming.
What we look at
- Loan amount versus the system's cash price, including dealer or origination fees
- interest rate and any payment "re-amortization" that depended on a tax credit lump-sum payment
- how the tax credit was described compared with your actual eligibility
- the relationship between the installer and the lender
- required disclosures
- lien or UCC filings on your property
- and system performance
How it works
- Free review of your loan documents, installation agreement, and bills.
- We build a timeline showing what was presented and what happened.
- When appropriate, independent counsel raises the issues with the installer and lender through a formal demand.
- Arbitration if the agreement requires it and negotiation doesn't resolve it.
What a resolution can look like
Possible outcomes vary widely and may include a corrected loan balance, a refund of certain fees, repair or replacement of equipment, or other negotiated terms. Results vary.
Every agreement and every situation is different. Results vary, and no one can promise a specific outcome.

Common questions
Should I stop making my solar payments?
No. Please keep making your payments while your case is reviewed. Missing payments can lead to late fees, collections, credit damage, and default, and it can weaken your position. Don't change how you pay unless independent counsel advises you to.
What does it cost?
The case review is free, with no obligation. If you decide to move forward, the cost is a one-time service fee that we disclose in writing in our Client Service Agreement before you sign. You'll know the exact amount and what it covers up front. After you sign, you have three business days to cancel for a full refund. We'll also explain how any fees for independent counsel are handled in your situation.
What documents do I need?
Whatever you have is a good start. Most helpful: your solar agreement (lease, PPA, loan, or purchase contract), any sales proposal or savings estimate, 12 months of utility bills, screenshots from your monitoring app, and any texts or emails with the sales rep or company. Photos of roof damage or equipment problems help too. Don't have everything? Start anyway.
