CONTRACT REVIEW

Free solar contract review

Solar agreements are long, technical, and often signed on a tablet in a few minutes. Our review gives you a clear picture of what you actually agreed to, and whether it matches what you were told.

Who this is for

Any homeowner with a solar lease, PPA, loan, or cash purchase who has questions, concerns, or a feeling that something isn't right. You don't need to be sure there's a problem. Many people come to us just to understand their paperwork.

What we look at

  • The agreement type, term, and payment schedule, including any annual escalator
  • Production estimates or guarantees, and how they're measured
  • Fees, including dealer or origination fees in loans
  • Cancellation, transfer, and buyout terms
  • Arbitration and dispute resolution clauses, including any opt-out windows
  • Required state disclosures and whether you received them
  • Signature pages, dates, and whether the documents are complete
  • Your utility bills and monitoring data, compared with what was projected

How it works

  1. Send us what you have, even if it's incomplete.
  2. We review it and note issues worth a closer look.
  3. We walk you through what we found, in plain English, and explain possible next steps.
  4. You decide what, if anything, to do next.

What you'll get

A clear explanation of your agreement's key terms, a list of concerns we identified, and an honest view of your options. Our review is not a legal opinion; if your situation needs one, independent, licensed counsel can provide it.

Every agreement and every situation is different. Results vary, and no one can promise a specific outcome.

Common questions

What documents do I need?

Whatever you have is a good start. Most helpful: your solar agreement (lease, PPA, loan, or purchase contract), any sales proposal or savings estimate, 12 months of utility bills, screenshots from your monitoring app, and any texts or emails with the sales rep or company. Photos of roof damage or equipment problems help too. Don't have everything? Start anyway.

What if I can't find my contract?

That's common, especially with agreements signed on a tablet. You can usually request a copy from the solar company or lender, and many have customer portals where documents are stored. We'll help you figure out where to look and what to ask for.

What does it cost?

The case review is free, with no obligation. If you decide to move forward, the cost is a one-time service fee that we disclose in writing in our Client Service Agreement before you sign. You'll know the exact amount and what it covers up front. After you sign, you have three business days to cancel for a full refund. We'll also explain how any fees for independent counsel are handled in your situation.
